The BmtSupport site caters for bone
marrow (BMT) and stem cell transplant (SCT), (PBSCT) patients and their
families, providing information and links to other resources, empathy
and support.
The group welcomes all types of Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant patients
-allogenic, autologous, stem cell and NST procedures. It's members are
made up of patients with many types of leukaemias (leukemias) including
AML, ALL, CML, as well Aplastic Anaemia , Multiple Myeloma , Lymphomas
(Hodgkin's Disease (HD) and Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL) and other malignant
diseases.
The group was formed in 1994, in Dublin, Ireland with a view to providing
support for Bone Marrow Transplant patients and their families. The Goals
& Objectives were agreed as 'Empathy, listening, "walking with", availability,
confidentiality and being supportive to each other'.
